Understanding a text is the desire of all students especially undergraduate students that are in their final year in various tertiary institution in Nigeria. Most of the institutions have put in various resources to ensure students improve the level of comprehension during classes; that was why there is the introduction of small-group reading among students by their project supervisor.

Small-group reading is an assisted literary experience in which the teacher supports and guides students on their instructional level before, during, and after reading. Most schools do not have good learning environment; the school library is filled with outdated books and the classrooms are choked with cluster of students. The noise as a result of crown and discomfort among students will affect their reading ability and comprehension.

Increases The Rate Of Assimilation Among Students: Small-group reading help increases the rate of assimilation among undergraduate students in Nigeria. Small-group reading has a ways of getting to student to concentrate on their research work and other departmental courses and assignment. The types of reading give room for question and answers among students by so doing improving the rate of assimilation and retention among students.

Promotes Sharing Of Ideas And Information

Small-group reading promotes information sharing among students. There has always being a kind of variations among students in terms information exposure and knowledge about final year projects. The students with more information about their research will share their knowledge with other so as to help others meet up with their research project deadline.

Increase The Rate At Which Problems Are Solved

With the improved rate of information sharing among students in small-group, there will also be increase rate at which problems are solved among students. The problems associated with undergraduate projects is usually much; with the inception of small-group reading and information sharing this problem will be reduced to the barest minimum.
